Ah, yes, the telephone.

In this lightning fast world of Internet solutions, many small (and larger) business forget that the telephone (or what is now called ‘voice’, as in ‘voice and data’) is arguably one of the tools we take for granted when growing a successful business:

The telephone is commonly one of the first tools we use in personal interactions with customers, shareholders and partners; and

Our voice (in voicemail, and ‘live’) reflects our personality and our commitment to our business and our customers.

I built this blog to review the voice solutions that can help your business ’sound’ its best, but also to 1.) help keep your communications organized so your business can perform with more agility; and 2.) show you how to energize your sales, even when you’re not on the phone. It sounds simple (writing this almost feels like I’m ’stating the obvious’), but so few entrepreneurs can research and test different voice solutions and run their business. (And many other business owners, hopefully not you, disregard the incredible voice technology out there that can really boost sales).

Why am I an expert? Well, I’ve worked at some of the best (and, regrettably, some of the worst) of telecommunications companies, including RCN, RNK Telecom, and GotVMail. At every stage in my career, I look at the plethora of voice technology solutions — from the perspective of an entrepreneur — and ask, “What voice solution will help my business grow, for the least amount of money and at the lowest amount of risk?”

To share my findings with you is just the icing on the cake.
